General Electric, the nation’s foremost manufacturer of consumer electronics and home appliances has taken a stand to put their employee’s health needs first through a ground breaking corporate wellness program. The program kicked off with an employee health fair that featured a variety of booths with ways to help employees eat healthier, stay more active and get on track with their preventative health care screenings. Part of the event was a giveaway of the popular nutritional guidebook “Eat This, Not That” by David Zinczenko. GE approached BookPal to be their vendor of choice to provide the thousands of books for their employees.

“Eat This Not That” is the book of choice because it helps you make sense out of the daunting amount of choices available around you every day to choose the healthy options over the not-so-healthy. With so many modified food products on the market today, it can be daunting for consumers to know what all the health food “buzz” words mean and which choice is really the right one. This popular book series was originally derived from a column in Men’s Health magazine. Written by David Zinczenko and Matt Goulding, the series works to uncover the hidden ingredients and worst food choices available at restaurants, fast food joints and in your local grocery story.

The book offers thousands of easy food switches that could save you up to 30 pounds or more! The criteria for unhealthy dishes centers on indicators like: high levels of calories, fat, saturated fat, trans fat, sodium and/or sugar content. The healthier alternatives often include higher levels of fiber and/or protein. The franchise brands itself as the “no-diet weight loss solution”- and for many, this is ringing true.
